When I first heard from Nathan, I asked him how he proposed to Natalie. He told me it was at a little harbourside spot called Milk beach. I thought it would be romantic to meet them back there to watch the sunset. We braved the cold breeze and Sydney rewarded us with beautiful colours as the sky lit up with a warm orange to perfectly complement the cool blue ocean.
Late one afternoon Holly and Lachlan met me at Kings Tableland land to celebrate their engagement. We arrived to find the area closed for some commercial filming. Nevermind, I always have a backup plan so we drove to the end of the dirt track to find another epic Blue Mountains vista for their backdrop. It was an overcast day but after a while the sun burst through the clouds, showering everything briefly in some stunning golden light. It was the perfect end to a fun afternoon together running around the wilderness.
We decided to meet on the sand of Bondi Beach late one afternoon. The light was beautiful and provided us with nice muted colours. After exploring the beach, we walked up the hill to view the ocean. At this time the sun was setting, bathing everything in a pink hue. We then had a surreal moment of witnessing a moonrise over the ocean. It was a joy to see and preserve for this wonderful couple.
This was a hybrid shoot where I used film alongside digital.
